That's what SOME Sophia fans are saying because they feel the show can't carry on without her.  Whatever!!

 That's not the case at all. Smokey, who is the most reliable person we have on this board was the one that said that unless Sophia agrees to do another season, the show is done. That's something that comes from the network. They were the ones that said that there will only be a season 9 if Sophia's still on board. It doesn't have anything to do with us thinking Sophia can carry the show herself, because she can't, just like James and Joy can't. They need all three of them.

So this just could be me overanalyzing things, which I tend to do, but Sophia is taking a road trip across the country with her friends, and one of her friends is shipping everything she owns across the country, so my guess is Sophia is is taking this road trip to get all of her stuff back to LA, or she is shipping it all there too, but either way, to me at least, it looks like she is moving ALL out of Wilmington, which doesn't bode well for Season 9.  It breaks my heart, but I understand completely.

And another one of her friends tweeted this:

Last night in Wilmington with two of my favorite ladies. #losingfrontstreetsfinest #takemewithyou #igivegoodbackrubs #JK #NoSeriously :)

Not looking good...

If it's the case well I'm happy but I hope the CW will be bright enough to announce it in advance!

What scares me is the "losing front street's finest."  That doesn't sound like a cya when the new season starts goodbye...

Sophia has done this road trip from Wilmington to LA after a couple other seasons so I wouldn't read too much into that. Also, their friend that tweeted about the 'last night in wilmington with my two favorite ladies' also tweeted a few days ago about crossing his fingers for a season 9. I would love to know for sure either way at this point. I would love a s9 (if no one leaves) but if this is for sure the last season I want some sort of notice. I honestly think we will know either way soon.

I see some people are saying James has been in the most episodes or Sophia has but actually James, Sophia, and Joy have all been in the same number of episodes. It doesn't really matter who was in more when it comes to keeping the show around. If any of them leave then the show would probably die. They either all need to sign on or move on.

I thought James has been in every episode? Joy missed some in s2, although I don't know exactly how many.and Sophia wasn't in the pilot.

i agree about if any leaving and i only want a s9 if them 3 stay...but soph wasnt in the very first epp (pilot) and i think joy might have missed a couple in s2.

Well I'm not saying that there aren't some episodes that Joy or Sophia missed. I was just saying that according to IMDB, which is usually always right with this stuff, they have all been in the same number of episodes. Maybe James missed a few episodes too.

I'm like 99,99999999% sure that James never missed an episode and IMDB isn't always accurate...  ;)

but briannahh, IMDB takes the episodes that they are credited for .. Sophia wasn't in the pilot but she was in the credits. If you go look at the page of the pilot, Sophia Bush will probably be identified as credit only!

btw, James has been in every episode. joy missed at least one episode in season 2, maybe 2 episodes, not sure about how many episodes she missed and sophia was in all except the pilot.

if memory serves me right, chad put his house on the market ASAP. we havent heard anything about the other actors. could be a good sign that there will be a s9 or it could mean nothing, i dunno lol. i hate the waiting.

mark said that he didnt film any alternative ending for the show. if the show does go on for a season 9, they probably will edit the ending but everything is basically filmed. i know some people have said not to trust what mark says cuz he says things that the fans want to hear but he seemed very honest with his answers. like shantel, he also was surprised by the network support for a season 9. he said that the season will end in a way he thinks will be satisfying for fans but at the same time if things were to continue, there would still be something there for a season 9. he was honest in saying that he really thought they were done this season n thanked the fans cuz he talked about all the time slot changes and competition like idol and glee and yet the show is still pulling through.

i also think with the way smallville did so well with it being announced as a final season that the cw may want to do that with oth to cash in. also thw cw may not want to fill 3 new time slots considering showslike gg, 90210 and hellcats are on the downward slide. the cw figures they know that oth will be a sure thing. the cw came out with only 2 new shows this season and they werent major hits like TVD. I think the cw may trim some of that fat next season depending on how those shows do and they know that OTH has been a proven performer. from the CW POV, i can totally see why they want to continue for at least one more season.

I definitely agree. I think the only reason there won't be a season 9 is if the cast decides they are done. I am curious since the core cast is no longer under contract, are they able to sign other contracts or do they have to wait until the CW announces something. I know in Shantel's interview she said she couldn't really do anything until the knows in 3 weeks about a S9.

Sophia, Austin, James and Joy can sign on to something new the minute their contract is up. Sure, they can wait until they get some final news from the network, but they should know by now if they want to come back for a season 9 or not. With Austin saying that he doesn't want to do the show anymore and Sophia driving her car back to LA, I think they've made a decision to not come back. We've already heard that Joy's not coming back. The only one I can see wanting to stay on is James, not that there'll be a season 9 if he's the only core character still there. lol

Jana, Shantel and Rob can't sign on to anything else that'll conflict with a possible new season since they're still under contract.

Well Chad didn't really leave on good terms, so i'm sure he kinda wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible..haha...Joy is still in Wilmington for a couple more weeks I think because of the baby, but yeah I duno whats up with Sophia and James and selling their houses, although are we sure they didn't just rent places?  Either way, I thought I read that Mark did film and alternative..but I could be wrong, but I would like to see this finale, because from what i've heard about it, I just don't see how he leaves anything open for another season...at least as far as Sophia, James and Joy's SL's go.

Sophia and Austin were renting an apartment (I'm 99% sure of that anyways lol). Hopefully Sophia will confirm that she wont be back on the 5th during her interview with Craig.

The only reason that is stopping OTH to return next season is the cast, and imo I give them credits for staying on this show for 8 years. They did a lot for the fans, so I can't understand people/fans who want them to return again and again. They have their own lifes aswell.

But rating-wise it would be a stupid move to cancel OTH. I want OTH to end on good terms and in their own way and time so I am glad they get that chance this season. Mark better not ruin it, because he has hope for a S9 because he has the chance this year to close every SL in a proper way.

If I was the boss of the CW I'd try to get Mark to write a spin-off with Quinn, Clay and the other secundary characters if they are interested. Just create another showname and start with S1 again. But dont let him ruin OTH to make a S9 where Joy,James and Sophia and Austin are gone. That would be weird and a slap in the face to the fans and the show itself

I would love for them to do a spin off.
I'm sure a lot of people would disagree though.
