Episode 1.11:The Living Years

With Whitey's cancellation of basketball practice, Nathan takes advantage of his extra free time to see more of Haley. The couple spend an afternoon at his beach house, where the liquor flows. The Scotts see a therapist to try to fix their family problems, but the distance between Deb and Dan continues to grow. Meanwhile, Brooke grows jealous of Peyton's deepening bond with Lucas.

While Lucas is writing his mom an e-mail, we can have a glance at the e-mail address which is "karen'scafe@hotmail.com". This is impossible since Hotmail.com does not accept any characters or signs (such as apostrophes) on e-mail addresses they host.

The songs that Peyton mentions to Brooke and then Lucas mentions to Peyton are "Love Will Come Through" and "Walking Down This Hill" by Travis, tracks 8 and 11 of their album "12 Memories".

Peyton is trying to help Brooke and Lucas to connect more. She tells Brooke to tell Lucas to listen to tracks 8 and 11 and when Brooke goes to Lucas she says tracks 8 and 13. Later, Lucas tells Peyton he knows it was her who said songs 8 and 11, meaning he somehow understood that Brooke meant 11 when she said 13.

The book Lucas is reading while sitting with Peyton is 'The Winter of Our Discontent' by John Steinbeck.

Lucas' voiceover at the end of the episode is from the book "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Although credited, Moira Kelly (Karen) does not appear in this episode.

This is the first appearance of recurring star Thomas Ian Griffithas Peyton's father, Larry Sawyer.

I didn't feel like Brooke/Lucas had anything in common...I mean I know opposites attract, but I think you should have something in common at least!!!

Keith/Deb...I liked that they were friends

Lucas thinking someone broke into Peyton's house and trying to protect her with the rake...when it was her dad...so funny, but you can see how much he cares for her still!!!  =)

I love how open Nathan/Haley can talk to each other

Love Peyton's dad being there in this episode...such a great story!!!

I love Lucas/Peyton's talk...and how he wanted to sit there and read why she was drawing...so cute!!!  Just wish they were together =(

Keith/Nathan's talk was good too

Ok...that scene with Brooke talking to Lucas about bringing each other along when they do something they love was kinda cute...even though I did not want them together I did find it cute and Brooke is really trying to find something in common with Lucas!!! =)

Keith/Dan talks are always so fun!!!  LOL

Jake/Peyton talk!!!  awww!!!

Lucas/Nathan talk...Love to see Lucas caring a lil about Nathan even if Nathan felt like it was unnecessary

Nathan/Haley ditching school...loved the scene!!!  Too funny when Haley pukes on Dan!!!

Didn't like how judgmental Lucas was with Haley when he does stuff with Brooke!!!

I did feel a lil bad for Brooke when she saw Lucas talking to Peyton and her dad...she looked hurt

Lucas/Peyton's talk by the lockers was great too!!!

Haley/Nathan...I liked that Nathan cared that Haley got a F and was worried about her!!!

Awww...poor Peyton!!!

I kind of think Brooke was right a little bit about Lucas liking Peyton for the emotional thing and her he uses...I know he was a good guy and he didn't really try to be, but it did seem like that in season 1!!!
And then the writers have to add the whole "Trust him and trust me" in there so when LP does cheat then its such a shocker!!! 

Lucas/Peyton's dad talk is also good!!!  Love what Lucas tells him!!!

Love Nathan's talk to Haley how he doesn't want her to change!!! =) <3

Love Peyton/dad talk...It's just weird that we do not see him that much even though he is only taking locals in the future episodes...but I guess that goes for pretty much all their parents except for Lucas/Nathan

Lucas/Brooke talk at the end...kinda sweet...love that Brooke is caring more...

I liked Nathan/Dan's talk at the end...it made me like Dan a lil at that moment!!! =)

Lucas/Nathan at the rivercourt!!!  "You wanted my world...it's all yours"

I loved all the voice-overs in the earlier seasons with Lucas!!!

I think this episode solidified that Peyton/Lucas had way more in common with each other than Brooke and Lucas and it foreshadowed problems ahead for Brooke/Lucas, the whole storyline with Lucas becoming "rake boy", meant that he would get the okay from Peyton's dad and basically a blessing to hang out with his daughter. I don't know, but that episode pushed me toward Leyton over Brucas, especially when I saw how needy and clingy Brooke was becoming when it came to Lucas.

And I enjoyed Nathan/Lucas thawing to one another a little bit in the episode.

Yeah I think it showed that Peyton/Lucas had a lot in common and it was foreshadowing things in future storylines...

I pretty much rooted for Leyton through the whole series, but there were a couple of spots I thought Brucas had cute scenes...but I just loved Leyton more!!!

Loved Nathan/Lucas relationship so its cool seeing in the beginning how they were just starting out with their relationship!!!
